Completed Assessements – FOSTERS NEEDED!!!! ALL 19 U-HAUL CATS RESCUED & NEED FOSTERS, ASSESSMENTS ATTACHED!
We have completed assessments as of today! The shy ones may still come out of their shell though!! Thank you soooo much to Cynthia who did most of the work assessing these babies!!!!
Please see attached and below and network for fosters! My vet is way over capacilty and if we can move some of these cats right away, It would help a TON!! Most have URI, but it is not that bad and would do better in a foster home then still in a cage!
On May 26th, Animal Control confiscated 19 cats and 5 dogs that were being held in a stolen U-Haul truck for MONTHS and Months in filthy cages and stench. They were taken to Carson Shelter.
We rescued all 19 u-haul cats this week from the shelter and they are all at my vets and need fosters! A couple are in bad shape but they will be ok – Most have some degree of URI/kitty cold which is expected. We did full blood panels on them to know what we were dealing with and all chemistry seem to be ok relatively speaking! All are negative for FIV/FELV. HERE ARE THE ASSESSMENTS: U-Haul Cats June 2012 V4
See the pictures here at my vets….They were so hungry and grateful to have a bed an be together!!
IF YOU PLEDGED OR CAN STILL PLEDGE, MORE DONATIONS ARE GREATLY NEEDED AND WE NEED FOSTERS!!!!!!!! Email me at cdzacko@gmail.com if you can foster

U-Haul Case cats need Fosters
June 8th 2012

The story from Animal Control May 26th:
A small u-haul truck was reported stolen, and it happened to be in Hawthorne. When police arrived the man was taken into custody. The officers saw that there were 4 dogs in the front of the truck. I was called out to remove the dogs. I asked the man if there were any other animals in the truck, he stated that he had cats in the back part of the u-haul. When the officers and I opened the back of the truck the stench hit us like a ton of bricks…. Not only did he have 2 very large Pit bulls chained up to the back, but in rotted cages, filthy carriers, and rod iron bird cages, there were 19 cats in their own filth. The Ammonia almost took me out. We found 1 dead cat amongst the others in a carrier, and 1 of the cat only has 3 legs. The vet is not sure if it was hungry and ate it or it was eaten by the others. There is just a nub. The amputated one is not a fresh wound, the cats didn’t even know to sit up being inside those crates . I removed in total 25 animals from the truck and 1 dead cat.
Orange Kitty Living Outside In The Cold Mountains, Needs Home ASAP!
Please can anyone take this sweet cat in? He is currently living outside in Running Springs where it is very cold and the wild life can get him! There are many coyotes up there! He is a stray cat that had to be somebody’s at one time because he is so affectionate. The people feeding him think he is about 1 or 2 years old. They cannot take him in because they have other animals that won’t like it. Please forward this to anyone or rescue you know of that may be able to at least foster him. People can contact me by email jkmenell@charter.net or call 909-337-3157.
Thanks Jessica
