Freddy has been doing very well at his new foster’s home but unfortunately he can no longer stay there permanently.  We are looking for a permanent foster/adopter for him hopefully by Monday 7/12.  He is approx. 4 lbs and doesn’t take up much room! He is a little on the jealous side and wants all your attention..he is such a love!  He just wants to be held and cuddled.  Read here to see Freddy’s story.  PLEASE if anyone can foster this little guy please give me a call or email Caryn Klein 310 498 3226 or cklein@lifesapet.com

UPDATE: 7/2/2010

This little guy we rescued and is resting comfortably at a foster in Redondo Beach.  He is the sweetest little man! Diamond, a three year-old chihuahua that needs a good home. She appeared in my parents’ front yard in Gardena on May 11. My parents are elderly and can’t keep her but took care of her for a few days while my sisters and I tried to locate her owners (by asking around the neigborhood and posting flyers). We also took her to VCA Coast in Hermosa Beach where we found out she has a micro-chip and that she is three years old, her name is Diamond and she was originally from the Long Beach Animal Shelter. VCA Coast called the number from the micro-chip but the person answering the phone denied having a dog. Since my parents couldn’t keep her (they are elderly and had to fly to Hawaii on May 23) and my sisters and I already have multiple pets, Diamond was brought to the Long Beach Animal Shelter on May 16. We were told that Diamond would be kept there until May 30, at which time the Long Beach SPCA (next door to the shelter) would take her, providing they had room for her.

Meanwhile, we had spread the word about Diamond to co-workers and friends. One of my co-workers said she knew someone who was interested so, on Sunday, May 30, my sisters and I went down to the Long Beach SPCA and my sister “adopted” Diamond. Since she was already spayed and had had the required vaccines and shots, we paid the $125 fee and took her home that day. Unfortunately, my co-worker’s friend was unable to take Diamond. Another co-worker of mine has been taking care of Diamond but can no longer do it. We only have a few days to find a home for her.

My name is Rigby and I am a very handsome tabby cat in need of a new home. My current Human caretaker Charles is sadly dealing with a terminal illness, but we would like to find me a secure new home before he leaves me.  I haven’t had many Human or animal friends, so I will be somewhat shy at first. But I am sure that once we get to know one another, we will become good buddies.  I am neutered but do have my claws. However, I do use a scratching post. I am a very low maintenance kind of kitty; I only need kibble and fresh water; no fancy canned food or exotic Human entrees.  If you think we might make a good match, please contact Charles’ daughter Andra at:

Can anyone help out with this Chihuahua that was just found today in a Venice neighborhood near Washington Blvd? He was found by an acquaintance of mine and is currently with her. She cannot keep him or foster him for very long. Hoping someone has some room for this little guy. She took him to the vet, he does not have a chip and he is not neutered though I think that she will handle that. If there are no foster homes available, is there any adoption group near the Venice area that would be willing to allow this little guy to join until he gets a home? It seems he was abandoned, no one is claiming him. Flyers were put up and the lady who has him asked around in the neighborhood. Can someone PLEASE squeeze this guy in somewhere?? They are going to put him down tomorrow (June 3rd) by the end of the day. He is a 2 year old male grey tiger dsh. He has been at Carson shelter since May 22nd. Will you be his guardian angel??

Simon (A4112596) is a 2 year old male grey/wht tabby. He came in on 4/19 waiting patiently for someone to come see him- he sat in the observation room for 3 weeks so no one ever came by!! :(
He loves attention, is quite affectionate, and is a VERY mellow guy! He needs rescue/foster or adopter to step up for him!! He is such a beautiful cat!!

Buster (A4112971) is 1 year old male, orange tabby. He came in 4/20 & has been in Bldg. 4 where he was being treated for URI but the volunteer sure didn’t see any symptoms…
Happy and active, he is a real sweetie pie, LOVES tummy rubs; and is a solid cat.
Give him attention and he will go straight to the food bowl!

Coco is approx. 6 month old male; black with white hair patch on his chest. His animal ID# is A4114790 and he is at the high kill Carson shelter. His days are numbered unfortunately. What a sweetie pie!! Kneads paws, BIG purrs, loves to be carried, didn’t hiss at other cats!

He has been there since 4/22! He was brought into the shelter with his 2 sisters – both black too and both very sweet – the first sister was adopted by the public, the 2nd was the black mom we pulled last week who had 4 babies in the shelter – and now he is left all alone!! Hi All,

I was at Carson yesterday and there is the SWEETEST mom and 4 newborn babies that need to get out ASAP! She kept coming up to the cage wanting to be pet and loved.  Could someone PLEASE take her in?? She is in a cold small cage with no towel or bed to put her babies in :{   They are REAL EASY to take care of! Mom does all the work!  We need to get her out before kittens get sick!

Mom’s ID# is A4114792 They all look healthy. Babies are A4121891, A4121892, A4121893, A4121894. They are in Bldg 5.
