Needs Rescue: Sweet 5 month old Kitten Hidden Away in Unadoptables-RESCUED
RESCUED!! THANK YOU ALL!!
This 5 month old sweety was tucked away in the unadoptables building and sat for TWO WEEKS b/c it came in as a stray and was labeled feral. When one of the volunteers was cleaning her cage on Saturday, she noticed this poor thing and went to go pet it…well, it was not feral, but just really shy!!! The volunteer picked the kitty up and rubbed her belly and she was totally fine – we are talking about love bug material if someone can just give her some TLC. The shelter has since moved her to the adoptable building and labeled her as “Friendly” rather than “Feral.”
This kitten is HEALTHY NOW but will need to get out ASAP before it gets sick. It also needs just a little love to come out of its shell.
Pictures attached. IMPOUND NUMBER A4081964

MEET LOVABLE AND HUGABLE BAILEY!!!!!-RESCUED/NEED FUNDING
UPDATE 1/27 RESCUED!!
MEET LOVABLE AND HUGABLE BAILEY!!!!!
A KING SIZE BALL OF LOVE
BAILEY (Impound # A4072162) Its hard to believe that this big hunk of love with his front claws removed could survive on the street, but some how he did because he was turned in to the Carson Shelter on 12/28 as a stray. His is a volunteer favorite and is about as lovable and friendly as it gets. As a big dude, he is slower on his feet but it doesn’t stop him from head butting and giving you kisses. He is a true lover and at only 4 years old, he does not deserve to end his days in the shelter – especially after he survived on the streets! He is vaccinated, healthy, neutered and his pull fee will cover a microchip where he will hopefully never be lost again! Please cross post to get this lover boy out – his time is running out.
His adoption fee for a rescue is only $10 and non rescue is $30!

Need Funding To Help With Foxy’s Surgery
Foxy is doing very well since her surgery. She plays and gets along with the other dogs and cats. She is still having trouble with controlling her bladder so mistakes are common but will get better with time. Since being pulled from the shelter on the 5th of January, she has settled in quite nicely, sunning herself in front of the patio doors every afternoon. This little dog was hours away from being euthanized at one of the highest kill shelters in Los Angeles. You can read her bio here: http://lifesapet.com/2010/01/13/small-sweet-chihuahua-available-at-carson-ac-ida4072298/
Now we urgently need help with funding to help pay for her bladder surgery which has cost over $1700.00. Could you please help us so we can continue to help more animals? Any amount is appreciated. You can donate with a credit card here:

How I came to have Bella in my life:
I was home one night, checked my twitter page and my sister had retweeted this message from lifesapet:
Very Small Spayed Female Chihuahua Needs Rescue/Adoption At Pasadena AC and this photo:
Something about this photo hit me in a big way. She looked so vulnerable and eager and scared, all at the same time, naked in the corner, trying to smile. I saw the tweet on Sunday, Dec. 27th, called the Shelter on Monday the Dec.28th, and drove to L.A. on Tuesday the 29th and brought her home to San Diego.
We have a 20 year old Burmese cat. Sunshine and an eight year old larger Chihuahua, Frankie, who was from a breeder/hoarder situation and rescued by Best Friends Animal Society. We adopted Frankie six years ago. Bella is very young, still a puppy in a lot of ways but she’s a good girl. We are getting her used to going for walks along the ocean and the bay in the coastal community where we live. I have an antiques business in a beach town where Bella and Frankie go to work with me each day. Bella already has the routine down. She gets a lot of attention from customers, as she sits on her chair playing with her toys or her bully sticks or sleeping. The good part is she is never alone. She loves to tuck in under the covers at night. She gets scared if I leave her alone in a room so she shadows me everywhere I go. One day she’ll understand that this is her forever home and that I’m not going to leave her. She has put on weight so her ribs and spine are no longer exposed and she’s up to a whopping 5 lbs! She doesn’t walk like she’s a crab anymore, slinking on the ground with her legs splayed out. I’d never seen that before. She hardly knew how to walk and would stumble and trip or her legs would go out on her.She walks like a little trooper now. I read her medical records and couldn’t believe what she had been through, dumped on the street, how she made it alive, who knows? She was dehydrated, lethargic, underweight and about to give birth to one very large, deformed pup born dead. She had the still birth in the middle of the night when no one was there to help her. It was hard on her and she had wounds to heal. It’s amazing to me that she’s alive.
I love this little dog more than I can say and she can feel it. She is so appreciative the way she looks at us. She touched my heart and found her way to us via Twitter.
She loves her life today – her walks, her trips in the car to work, her sprawling lawn where she can run around free as much as she likes and do what dogs do. She loves raw bones, bully sticks, her stuffed toys, prancing when I put her in a sweater but most of all, loves to be snuggled and to give kisses. The hard part of her life is behind her. I owe a big thank you to Caryn for posting Bella’s photo on Twitter, allowing Bella to reach out and touch someone’s heart.

When we approached Charmaine (A1085262, 2 year old, green-listed on 1/14 – down-graded from red because she is soooooo sweet!!!) she seemed a bit cautious, then started to rub up against the side of the cage, and suddenly, flopped over and started stretching and inching her way towards us to be petted. What a beauty she is, with that deep gray, soft fur. This girl was indeed lucky – but you can be even luckier if you save her life.
