“Charmaine” Beautiful 2yr old Russian Blue-RESCUED

Charmaine

UPDATE 1/22: RESCUED!

Pull Fees and Transport Covered!!!!

When we approached Charmaine  (A1085262, 2 year old, green-listed on 1/14  –  down-graded from red because she is soooooo sweet!!!) she seemed a bit cautious, then started to rub up against the side of the cage, and suddenly, flopped over and started stretching and inching her way towards us to be petted.  What a beauty she is, with that deep gray, soft fur.  This girl was indeed lucky  –  but you can be even luckier if you save her life.  Please visit or call the South L.A. shelter at (213)  485-0117  or  -0119 to rescue her.  Impound #A1085262

Small Sweet Chihuahua Rescued..Need Help With Funding

1/12 This very sweet little girl (her name is now “Foxy”) is in surgery today at VCA Coast Animal Hospital with a very large stone in her bladder.  She was urinating uncontrollably because of the spasms that the stone was causing. Im sure this is probably why her owners turned her in to the shelter because she couldn’t control her bladder.  Who knows how long this poor girl has had to be in pain before she came to me. If you have ever had a kidney stone then you know how painful it is!  The surgery and diagnostics are going to cost around $1700.00.  She will be a different dog after the surgery…free of pain and suffering.  I am asking for funding to help cover the cost of her surgery.  ANY amount is gratefully accepted! You can help us SO much by clicking the donate button.
  THANK YOU!!  Caryn Klein cklein@lifesapet.com

1/5 She was rescued today by Lifesapet! Thank You all who networked her! She is a sweet and timid little chi.  Just happy to be in a warm cuddly bed tonight!

12/30  Could someone possibly foster this dog? She is only about 8lbs and needs out asap.  She is VERY sweet and gentle! I can arrange pull and transport.  Please contact me: Caryn at: cklein@lifesapet.com or 310 498-3226

I was at Carson yesterday and this little sweet chihuahua was being dropped of by a father and daughter.  She is the sweetest dog! She is really scared at the shelter and with the freezing nights she just cowers in the corner and shakes!  PLEASE someone take her home! If you are interested in her, please call the shelter immediately at 310 527-5158 and ask about animal ID#A4072298, then ask to put an IP on her (interested party) so they won’t euthanize her until you get to the shelter to pick her up. She is located at:

“Peanut” is a 7yr old Honey Colored Chihuahua And Has Found A Home!

Peanut

1/11 Peanut has found a lovely home with a nice family!

Peanut is a 7yr old male neutered deer head honey colored chihuahua that desperately needs a home.  His owners transferred him over to their housekeeper 5 years ago and the shelter contacted them last week saying they found him wandering the streets.  Now the owners can no longer keep him, so they have until Saturday to find him a home.  If no one adopts him, he will be signed over to the shelter and it will be in their discretion to euthanize him.

Please Adopt him!  He is a sweet natured boy that was at one time loved and cared for.  Now he is sitting in the shelter waiting for someone to take him home by Saturday.  Please don’t let him die there!

If you can adopt Peanut, please contact: Andreas Adamec andreasadamec@verizon.net ASAP! Time is running out.

RESCUED!!! ///DISCARDED AFTER 11 YEARS :( SWEETEST WAGGING TAIL COCKER SPANIEL MIX “CANDIE” TURNED IN TO BE KILLED :(

A1498679

I had the pleasure of spending 4 hours at the Carson Shelter the day I got back from Christmas Holiday with 2 lovely days spent with my family back east….and boy, did my xmas spirit and faith in humanity go down fast :(  While standing in line to pull my cats I had scheduled to rescue, we witnessed 3 dogs being turned in, 1 friendly cat  and 1 four month old semi-feral that was trapped and brought into the shelter to be killed.  My friend and I took the 2 cats (in addition to the ones we were all ready getting plus a mom and kittens we found out about) and were able to persuade the finders of the 2 dogs to find other means to get them homes…but had no such luck with dear sweet Candie below.  < ?xml:namespace prefix =”" o ns =”" “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

Candie (A1498679) was brought in to the shelter that day by her owner of 11 years to be euthanized because she was “too old”.  We overheard the lady say that Candie had diabetes, but I find that very hard to believe…only because why would someone go through the trouble of spending the money to diagnose a dog with diabetes but bring it back to the shelter to be euthanized rather than at her vets???  Candie also was extremely alert, wagging her tail and had tons of energy.

I suggested to the lady that it would be much more humane to take Candie to the vet next door to the shelter to be euthanized so she could be with her (and the same cost as the fee she had to pay to the surrender the dog to the shelter), since Candie would just sit in the shelter scared for days all alone until she was finally euthanized…but the lady just gave me an attitude and said “mind your own business” and later threatened me with other colorful language.   She also said that she adopted Candie at the Carson Shelter 11 years ago and so that is why she was returning her to the Carson Shelter.

I of course did not want Candie to be put down as she was so happy and clueless of what her fate was about to be….but I really was just trying to get to the lady’s conscious (who incidentally brought her granddaughter to witness her dog being turned over to be killed).

So as much as I tried, Candie was still turned in :(  When I went to go see her in her holding cage – she was staring in the location where her owner had left her :(  And she was trembling…It brought me to tears…

I normally don’t do my own pleas for dogs as the cats are overwhelming enough, but I hope that something good will come of this…I know Candie’s story is not unique by any means, but I was there this time and I met her…and I have to at least try…

Candie is such a sweetie and has so much life still with her to give…I tried to take a video with my camera phone, but it was literally minutes after she was dumped and she was so scared and confused:(  you can see in one of her pictures her looking out in the distance wondering where her owners went :(

Candie’s impound number is A1498679

Her humble Video is below and her pictures attached.

Carson Shelter info is below.  I would be more than happy to pull this dog for anyone who can take her…MORE THAN HAPPY (cyndi at cdzacko@gmail.com)
