Lela, gorgeous declawed cat, turned in because wife was pregnant South L.A.

Animal ID#A1077716
Lela (A1077716, 4 years old, already spayed, sadly declawed, now on meds for URI) was turned in because her owner was pregnant. The woman believed the falsehood that a cat is dangerous to a pregnant woman and, though Diane tried to explain that this only has to do with the changing of cat litter, adding that someone else could handle that task and she could keep Lela, the inhumane husband would not listen. He broke his wife’s heart, left her sobbing uncontrollably, and paid his $22 to turn in the beloved family pet.
Lela is a wonderful girl. Just look at her face – exceptional markings as if done by a make-up artist.
Please call the South L.A. shelter at (213) 485-0117 or -0119 and show Lela that she is still loved.
SEEKING VOLUNTEERS TO FIND INJURED DOG – EAGLE ROCK/HIGHLAND PARK AREA – CALIF
Injured and lost blonde female Terrier/Poodle Mix – Medium sized – About 25 lbs.
REWARD: $2,500 to the person who finds her!
The white dog was walking on a leash with her owner, Shelly, when an unleashed pitbull attacked at Eagle Rock Recreation Center in Eagle Rock, CA on Wednesday night (11/25) around 6:30pm. Sammy (Sam) was bitten in the neck and hind quarter, and ran away towards Figueroa.
Sam is usually very friendly, but might be shy and scared now that she is injured and lost. She lost her collar, but she’s microchipped with AVID FriendChip.
She might be hiding nearby in the surrounding neighborhoods, and since she is injured time is of the essence!
- IF YOU CAN SPARE AN HOUR OR TWO, PLEASE HELP US FIND HER
…by posting some flyers, talking to people or just looking around. It would be a huge help! (Although you might not live in this area, please pass on the e-mail as your friends might know someone who does.)
Possible sightings: near Occidental College, Eagle Rock/Highland Park Sunday 11/29 at 8 am, and prior in the neighborhoods near York & Figueroa in Highland Park.
For further info, contact Sammy’s owner Shelly directly at 323-603-9434 or Shelly_Strong@DreamWorksStudios.com

“Wolfie” Has Until End Of Day 11/29 Sunday..Please Rescue!

Wolfie (A1073882, 3 yr old, red-listed on 11/22 – so has until end of day on Sunday, the 29th) came in with his sister, adopted already. He’s a real charmer – and all the volunteers adore him. But, he is selective with his affections and needs to be sure of people. He doesn’t enjoy being poked, prodded or surprised. Best to make his acquaintance first, gradually. He’s got that little dog syndrome. But, once you know him, he is faithful and true. Loves the other little dogs in his kennel.
If you can help this little cow-boy, please call the South L.A. shelter at (213) 485-0117 or -0119.

URGENT: Redlisted Sweetheart-Please Rescue Asap!!

My name is Lady and I am an unaltered female, white and black American Pit Bull Terrier mix.
The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 1 month old.
I have been at the shelter since Oct 15, 2009.
Wonderful, pretty smaller pitbull, who wouldn’t even come out of her kennel when she arrived at the shelter. Was terrified of people. Now she loves to go for walks and most especially cuddle — and eat snacks! Very trainable, very sweet and thrilled to be with other dogs – no aggression!!! 11/22/09 -Yesterday, I had her out, off leash, in the yard and she was hopping and skipping with JOY!!! She comes back and sits, leaning against my leg to get more hugs.I’m amazed how she has learned to trust again!!! She really has lots of love to give! HELP!!!

PLEASE HELP CYNDI WITH SAVING “OVERLY AFFECTIONATE” JUNIOR – NEEDS DONATIONS!!!!

Junior is a Volunteer favorite at the Carson Shelter. He is only 10 months old and was turned in by his owners on November 13th for needing “too much attention.” He is very playful and probably needed another kitten to wrestle with and just be a kitten. He is super sweet and loving. He started Upper Respiratory 4 days ago and the shelter just called me and told me I need to pick him up today or he will be euthanized due to him being very sick and not eating. He tested negative for panleukopenia today at the shelter so he has a real bad URI.
I need funding to try and rescue Junior. I know I can’t save everyone, but Junior is very near to our hearts and doesn’t deserve to be euthanized. I am completely tapped out at this point (the last 3 I have rescued this momth have cost me about $2000), so can anyone help towards his pull fee and vetting?? Please see below on how to donate…Can you please help me rescue Junior??
I estimate I will need at least $400 for boarding and vetting as my last 3 have run $600 -$800 :(
